You are the beginner in article writing contests, aren't you? Here are some techniques for you to double productivity.
On a more serious (and honest) note, I have had a great time doing the contest even though I started late. Along the way I have figured out a couple techniques that have allowed me to catch up. These might not be news to people who often do these contests, but for first timers who are thinking about joining in, these simple techniques can help you reach your goal.
1. Brainstorm Ideas: Before I even started to write any articles, I made a list of article topics. I didn't make the full list of one hundred right away, but I got a very good start. My first list had 25 topics. I got these topics based on the niche my money site is part of. I used the Google Keyword Tool and other free keyword resources to come up with 25 article titles. This was a great way for me to churn out the articles quickly. There was no wasted time trying to think of a topic in between articles. I sat down and simply started going through my list. When I was done the list, I created another one in a different niche and am now working through that.
2. Build A Head of Steam: I started late so I had to average just under 3 articles a day. It seems a bit overwhelming at first but I figured the best way to tackle it was to write as many articles as I could for the first week. I spent a lot of my free time hammering out articles that first week. Doing this allowed me to drop my daily average to 2. Currently I am sitting at about an 1.5 articles per day to reach the hundred mark That is much more reasonable, and as I continue to rush out articles I hope that drops to under one so I can coast into the finish. This method also helped me when I missed an entire weekend due to some much needed down time. Related thought: Why does down time always tire you out more than up time?
3. Tap Into Social Media: For me the toughest part of all of this is thinking up ideas. My method of brainstorming ideas first is great, but you still have to think of them. You can also get sick of writing about the same niche over and over again. This is when you can tap into your social networks. I used instant messaging, text messaging, Facebook and Twitter to ask people for article ideas. I even had some fun with it announcing on Facebook that I would write an article on the first topic suggested. Thankfully it was a reasonable suggestion, you don't want to know what second place suggested.
These three tips may seem pretty obvious to you, but for me it was all new ground. I am glad I used them though and if you are just starting out on your article writing contest challenge, hopefully you can use them as well. Good luck!
