What is a Computer Virus?

Computer viruses are unwanted computer programs that can invade your hard drive and cause many different types of damage. Usually viruses are created when someone writes a computer, and malicious software embedded within that program. Once people start downloading the program on their computers infected, the virus finds its way in and change negative information stored in computers. Not a computer virus is similar, there are millions of different programs that cause different amounts of damage to a computer.

Like human viruses, computer viruses spread rapidly once they are created and computers are exposed to the "infection". Although instead of traveling by air, computer viruses spread across the Internet, sometimes you can get a virus just by clicking on a specific Web page. Many times computer users have a virus in their computer for a long period of time before it is discovered and before it begins to cause greater damage. Even if your anti-virus software on your computer, it will not always find the virus because the anti-virus software can only find known threats already using a database of that program.

You may ask, why would anyone counterproductive for such programs?

Well, there is no exact answer to why people aware of computer viruses other than a kind of revenge or to put their skills challenge. Nobody will be able to get these people to prevent the creation of viruses and other computers exposed to infection, the best for computer users to make this invasion to prevent the current anti-virus software and be careful about what sites they visit and what files they download.

If a virus finds its way into your computer, it will hide on your hard disk and proliferate, as do cells the virus in humans. You can not tell, but each time you save your data, you also save the virus. Soon enough, the virus multiplied to such a degree that the damage to your data and large problems.

Although the computer ROM (Read Only Memory) will not be affected by a virus, the RAM (Random Access Memory) your computer disks and certainly damaged. So if the virus is only in the RAM data in your computer when you shut down the virus will be lost if any memory that had occurred in the random access memory (RAM).

Unfortunately, the computer virus on your hard drive or computer disk will remain in your computer after you restart and it will be there when the program again. If you switch from the infected program to another program without shutting down the computer, the virus then the other program. As that happens, the virus slowly by infecting all programs on your computer before an idea that your computer is infected.

Currently, millions and millions of dollars spent on attempts to protect computers against viruses and eliminate destructive virus programs.

Anti-virus programs are offered by commercial and shareware sources were only made for detecting and programs that may be contaminated with the virus are fixed. These programs should be used to scan for viruses every time you drive in your computer every time you start your computer.
