The following story tells about the experience of a computer problem fixing of a guy. As he told, for 9 out of 10 times of fixing the computer, he usually follows the same routine to repair every computer. This sounds fun, but it is the truth.

Basically everyone ends up bogging down their computer with too many programs all running at once. I swear this is almost ALWAYS the case with any of the computers that I fix. And the good news is that you can easily fix this problem.

So how do you get these computers back up to speed when they suffer from this problem? Well, you have to stop these programs from starting up when the computer first boots up. It is fine to have a lot of programs on a computer, as long as they aren't all trying to run at the same time, as this will eat up all of the computer's RAM and CPU resources.

The fastest and easiest way to disable programs from running when the computer boots up, is to go into msconfig and disable them. To get into msconfig, simply click on the "Start" button, then click on "run". Now type in "msconfig" and hit enter. Next you will have to click on the tab labeled "start up". Now you will see a long list of programs and applications.

De-select any and all programs that are not absolutely mandatory to have going when the computer first boots up. You may want to talk to the owner of the PC before you go and disable everything. But oftentimes, I find that I just disable everything on that whole list, and the user of the PC doesn't even care, since most of the time they don't use hardly any of those programs anyways.

So guess what happens when I disable most of these programs, and then restart the computer again? 99% of the time it ends up making the computer run about 10 times faster, and more than satisfies the owner of the PC. Simple concept, yet HIGHLY effective 9 times out of 10!
