1. Click the "search & destroy" button in the top left corner of the program window.
2. Click the check for problems button to initiate the scan.
After the scan, the program will probably show a long list of problems that was detected during the scan. You will see a vertical bar to the right of the list; click it to display information about each threat. Click on each item and read through the commentary to determine whether it's a malicious program, or if it's neutral. If you want to delete it, click on the check box next to each threat.
If you made a mistake and have decided that the file you deleted shouldn't have been deleted, you can always restore the file through these steps:
1. Click the recovery button in the left-hand menu. You will see a list of removed programs and objects that have been backed up.
2. Restore an item by clicking the check box next to the object and click the recover selected items button.
3. If you want to remove a back-up item, simply click the check box again and click purge selected items button on the top middle part of the program window.
