Conquering new lands and nature secrets is always the desire of human no matter what challenge they encounter. Thousands of adventurers lost their life after the effort of discovering the most remote areas, the world\'s summits, the mysterious forests, the depth of the sea and so on.
Robert Falcon Scott (1868 – 1912)
As a Royal Navy officer and explorer, Robert Falcon Scott was the leader in two expeditions to the Antarctic areas, one of which is Terra Nova’s. In the second journey, his expedition was proved to be futile because a Norwegian venture leaded by Roald Amundsen had discovered the region before.
In the return, starvation, cold, and exhaustion resulted in Scott and his comrades\' death.
Roald Admusen (1872 – 1928)
Admunsen, whose south polar adventure was rather easier than Scott’s, is said to be one of the most famous explorer in history. The crew reached the whaling station in January, 1911. Unfortunately, his tent near Ross Bay drifted to the sea, resulting in his death.

Ernest Henry Shackleton (1874 – 1922)
Shackleton, a British explorer, started his journey on Endurance ship with 29 other men in the effort to be the first man stepping in the Antarctic in August, 1914. His expedition was in trouble when the ship was trapped in ice. Because of food shortage for months, Shackleton and the crew decided to reach South Georgia Island. After a long time on sea with a lot of danger, they returned home in August, 1916.
Shackleton’s expedition lasted for exactly 2 years.
Amelia Mary Earhart (1897 – 1937)
The American aviation pioneer, Amelia Earhart, teamed up with Fred Noonan to set up the first circumnavigational flight in the world in July, 1937. The first stop in her scheme was Howland Island, Hawaii. However, Earhart’s plane was reported not to land at Howland. At the final contact, the plane was flying above Nukimanu Island. The government spent $ 4 million on the sea search for Earhart, but the most costly and intensive search in U.S. history did not bring any results.
Amelia Earhart is the fisrt woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean.
Donald Crowhurst (1932 – 1969)
Crowhurst, known as a British businessman and an amateur sailor, died in a sailing race The Sunday Times hosted. He got a number of disadvantages during the voyage and was lost at sea.
Crowhurst ‘s remain was found after a missing month.
