As a Future's Exchange trader (Commodities Exchange, i.e. corn, wheat, hogs, silver contracts) I am quite aware of the tremendous profits that can be made on Wall Street. I am also aware of the tremendous losses that can be suffered. Stock and Commodity Exchanges can be very lucrative vehicles for creating wealth, but the risks are high and you really have to know what you are doing. All that said, for many people there is no other way to go.
As a television producer here in New York I was looking to begin funding my own projects by elevating my trading and earning big dollars. I realized a few years ago that in order to be more in control of the projects that I wanted to create I had to be more in control of the purse strings. The risks, however, in commodity trading are high so I got to thinking. How could an individual create a lot of money in a relatively short period of time--and was it even possible? There had to be something out there that could give the same leveraging power that could be found in commodity trading but without the huge risks involved.
I decided to revisit a business model that I had been involved with some 15 years earlier and to see if I could possibly update it into the modern era. The business model that I am referring to is called network marketing. Some people I knew had made a lot of money in it while masses made very little, if nothing. I didn't have it in me to start calling all my friends and family members again to get them involved, no matter how good the product, but another idea came to me that seemed to ring true.
What if I used the power of the internet to drive my marketing business? Many major companies have huge online sales through their websites, so why not me or anybody else who wanted to? I started learning as much as I could about social networking sites and how to drive traffic to a website. What I learned was amazing to me. While there are quite a few businesses out there doing what I thought I alone had discovered, there are tremendous amounts of businesses and companies that are not--and that includes individuals working solo.
Any person, however, can sell a product, offer a service, write a book, etc. and market that product on the internet--for FREE! Did you hear that? Companies have to spend millions of dollars a year on advertising, but you, the lone individual living on Main Street USA can do the same thing if you are creative enough, have a good imagination, and have the interest and drive to do so. With the advent of such social networking sites like YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and MySpace, there isn't a spot on the globe that you can't reach into. Do you realize the potential of what this means? Just a few short years ago this wouldn't have even been possible.
There are three things that you need to get started in your own business: a) a product of course, either one that you develop on your own, or one that you can market from a company, b) a way to deliver that product at a reasonable cost, and c) a knowledge of how to market that product online.
If you do the research and are willing to take the time to learn new techniques, the way you make money will change. Begin by changing your thinking and move forward with action steps. You'll be surprised by the results.
