Some of the most common uses are keystroke logging (to spy on any personal information entered while shopping on the internet), file corruption (this can either cause your system to be slower and more error prone, or make it completely irreparable), and even use your computer to attack another computer on your network. What makes this virus especially difficult to deal with is that there are many different variations of it and each variation has to be removed in a different way. Here are some tips on how to keep safe from any of the Trojan Horse viruses.
Â
First make sure you try using an anti-virus program. Even if it doesn't remove the virus, it will at least tell you what the file is called and where it is located (you should probably write that down because you'll need it later).
Try restoring your system to a date when you before you got the Trojan Horse using "System Restore" (this can be found in the "Control Panel" which is located in your start menu)
If those steps don't work, go to "Control Panel", go to "Folder Options", uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide file extension for known file types". Next you will have to put you computer into the Safe Mode. Here is how you do it: restart your PC, on boot up, after the first screen, press the F8 button (you have to be quick otherwise it won't do anything and you'll have to restart you PC and try again), you should see a screen with some options on how you want to boot your computer, press on the one with the "Safe Mode". Once your computer boots, go to start, search, enter the file name of the virus that your anti-virus program found, delete it. (I've heard that with some computer models the mouse doesn't work in safe mode so use your arrow keys, the windows key, etc...). Put your computer back in normal mode by following similar steps as for safe mode and delete the file from the recycle bin. Your system should now be free of the Trojan Virus. (Warning: If you're not too comfortable using computers have someone help you with this)

As you can see, it can be quite a pain to remove a virus once you get it; which is why, I would advise you to get a good anti-virus program. Having such software on your computer will help you stay protected from future attacks.
