Nobody would think a window cleaner is a dangerous job, but how about a high rise window cleaner? High rise window cleaners get paid reasonably well, have a great view of the town and have a dangerous job to do, all at the same time!

High rise window cleaners are expected to work on some of the tallest buildings in the world. The conditions this high up are highly dangerous, as there are sudden gusts of wind and you are very high up from the ground. Often, the window cleaner is harnessed into their suit and may have moving scaffolding to work off of. Some more awkward buildings require a steady hand and a brave soul to hang at strange angles from great heights!

However, there have been various injuries and even fatalities working as a high rise window cleaner. One incident was in New York when Edgar Moreno died after plunging 43 stories from an upper east sky scraper in New York.Â

To work well in this job you need to firstly have no fear of heights, but at the same time you still need to be highly cautious and not cocky about your job. Anyone who larks about in the air on a high rise building is asking for trouble!

Remember it won’t be a sunny day every day, and you will still have to window clean come rain or shine. You should also consider the skill of cleaning windows. Often, you need to be very quick at cleaning the window and move along the building whilst doing it. This isn’t simple window cleaning! Often, the building is completely coated in glass and windows, like many modern buildings. This means after starting the building and cleaning around it, by the time you get back around to where you started those windows are dirty again, and so you must continue around once more.
