Children love to play outside the snow because they can be able to release their high energy level through rigorous physical activity such as running, jumping, rolling and other physical activity a kid can do. Kids by nature are very inquisitive and imaginative they want to explore and experiment on things which are new and mysterious to their sight. A snowfall can’t even stop one. 1. Make snow men, snow women, snow families, animals, dragons, dinosaurs, cartoon figures, houses, forts, and igloos.
2. Throw snow balls at targets (If you’re having a snowball fight, make sure the snow is soft and that it’s against the rules to throw at a person’s head.)
3. Get out the sleds and saucers. No worries about the required hill. Kids will figure out how to build one.
4. Invent games. Start by making tracks in the snow, packing them down enough that they become “trails†and then make up the rules for run-fast-and-you-win games. A circle with spokes and the first person to get to the center wins, for example. A caller tells everybody to run around the circle. Then says “run to the center.†The child who finds the closest spoke and gets to center first wins. Kids will quickly make up their own variations of this game.
We must also take the necessary precaution so as to ensure their safety and well being when preparing these outdoor snow games. Parents should see to it that they are wearing thick jackets, a bonnet on their head and of course a thick gloves to prevent them from freezing before allowing them to go out and play in the snow. Parents should also make sure that they are wearing their proper shoe for the winter season.
Parents must check whether there are toys that may hurt a playmate or somebody else before giving them their toys. See to it that you remove toys with sharp or pointed edges. See to it that an adult is with them to serve as a watcher in case accident happens when children are already out in the open. Most importantly, all parents should set an allocated time for children to stay outside so to avoid hypothermia or any other illness.
