Lets start by defining Surveillance in order to get better understanding of the consecutive terms related to it such as audio surveillance, electronic surveillance and counter surveillance. When you watch over someone or keep an eye over something, that activity of supervision is termed as surveillance. Usually surveillance is kept over criminals and prisoners but nowadays, more and more people are installing surveillance equipment to keep a check over the safety of their near and dear ones. Audio Surveillance:

Government agencies, spy firms at all levels use audio surveillance devices to protect any crime from occurring. Audio Surveillance is used generally by people when they want to be safe and live comfortably. They can be divided mainly into two categories namely,

1)Wireless devices or telephone transmitters.

2)Wired devices such as wall microphones, telecorders, recorders and wired microphones.

Using Room transmitters,audio bugs and transmitters is prudent while use of body wires and spy phones can be called intelligent.


Electronic Surveillance:

These devices are known as electronic surveillance wherein you keep track upon somebody's activity without the person's knowledge. Video recording, audio recording and photography are the various kinds of techniques that are primarily used for these devices.


Counter Surveillance:

The practice with which all kinds of surveillance or supervision can be deterred or avoided is known as Counter surveillance. This equipment comes quite handy as issues regarding person's privacy at personal and professional front are increasing.
