I am very concerned about the growing EGOCENTRIST behavior [IRRATIONAL, SELFISH AND ERRATIC] which since after the war, youths, adults, parents and families mainly have changed into another being lesser from the individual with the capacity in magnanimity for humanity, to the animal kingdom affecting our thinking, feelings and productivity as a society, people and country. This constant following of one's egotistical desires to an extreme, usually involving a severe lack of extroverted tendencies has limited our taste for the greater picture in life of "MAGNANIMITY" putting nation before self, but rather what we see so rampant is self before nation.
This kind of egocentrism is something that we do see in psychopaths. What type or kind of nation are we? We do not want to accept that we are traumatized and needs help from each other rather than pouncing, fighting and even taking from others with impunity, what do not even belongs to us! We are daily creating and living in a disharmonious environment which we have created everywhere we are even in the DIASPORA which is even worst and unbelievable. Arguments ending up in abuse, some leading to physical confrontation, parties and weddings ending in serious "Mamy Curse" without any respect for our parentage and so fourth. We are deteriorating very rapidly, that if not arrested will lead to a more grave consequences than we have seen. The signs are in our daily behaviors and actions in front of our children which is not healthy for good parentage. We are growing more as enemies day by day, than as brothers and sisters trying to share our experiences, supporting each other to improve in life. Every body is so self seeking, worst are the people we have chosen to manage our affairs in the various sectors of our society including our politics and governance. Continuing setting up individuals, tribes, and people against each other is a very dangerous game that deficits the bigger picture of reconciliation and peace with one another.
We have created a society that is controlled in reactive instinct with the subconscious. Everybody has a dominant characteristics of the personality trait that causes one to always attempt to get personal recognition for oneself, especially by unacceptable means at all cost. In this state of mind will easily view others as enemy or threat to their personal ECOCENTRISM. We are interpreting everything around us from a personal perspective with the tendency to perceive, understand and interpret the world in terms of the self and only our-self matters.
TRAITS OF AN EGOCENTRIST SIERRA LEONEAN
* Not naturally in tune with others feelings; insensitive at times and on occasions very offensive
* We have tend to respond to our conflict with many logic and reason, rather than the desired emotional support and sympathy
* We lack feelings and affections for the less privileged and aged
* Tendency to believe that we're always right
* Tendency to be unwilling or unable to accept blame
* Constant quest to improve self with impunity, through blatant corruption taxing on the people and nations resources and assets
Our physical war may have finished, but we have a bigger one with a greater task and consequences on our hands which is our Unresolved conflicts, grievances, and miscommunications, wasting enormous amounts of time, energy and resources. There is also a bottom-line cost in lost productivity in all facets and negative local and international market reputation of our re-branding image.
AS I SEE IT
People you expect much from, and the authorities which it is incumbent upon to act, are less concern because it is not their families or friends involved or suffering from such disillusionment coupling with no job, no adequate food, no place to sleep and no future to look forward to except the fantasies in their minds eye they wake up to daily. And most dishearteningly, even the politicians and our various leaders wants to leave the situation like it is, so that they can continue to make political capital by continuing to exploiting the vulnerability of the youths and the traumatized people. THIS IS GOING TO BACK FIRE VERY SERIOUSLY IF WE DO NOT ARREST THE TREND...INDIVIDUALS AND GROUP OF PEOPLE ARE GRADUALLY TURNING INTO MONSTERS, HIRED ASSASSINS AND ARMED ROBBERS, PUTTING THE WHOLE POPULACE AT RISK BECAUSE FEW WANTS THE STATUS QUO TO REMAIN AS SUCH TO CARRY OUT THEIR NEFARIOUS ACTIVITIES FOR PERSONAL AND SELFISH GAINS.
